Our final hike for 2024 and FOREVER will be on December 28. Please join us at a hike over the next month to share your memories of the group and say goodbye.
Not Ladylike Hikes offers you a dedicated time to reconnect with each other and with nature, as we explore a trail at a social pace in or around Edmonton. Our mission is to build community while we explore nature.
We meet every Saturday morning at 9:00am and hike for approximately one hour.
Upcoming trailheads are listed in our Google Calendar, along with any specific trail notes and accessibility information.
- Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and bring whatever mobility aides you require/prefer.
- You know your abilities best, so please take that into account with each trailhead announcement and walk at your own risk
- The group usually walks for 1 hour, and sets our overall pace by the slowest hiker.
- You do not need to RSVP, and there is no cost to join.
- Dogs are permitted on leash unless otherwise stated.
- We start with announcements, a land affirmation, then introductions including pronouns
- There is no ASL interpreter and the only language spoken is English. Lisa has CPR, suicide first aid, and naloxone training. Please see the schedule for specific notes on accessibility for each trail.
A note from our founder, Lisa
After a few specific interactions I have decided to disband NLL Hikes. It’s been 4 years of getting you out on the trails with each other and I do not make this decision lightly. I realized in that moment that the community I was building continued to reproduce harms that go against my values and my mission for this group. This was a difficult decision for me, and I am not taking advice or questions at this time. If you can’t make it out to one of the final hikes, but want to share some positive memories or feedback of your time with us, please use the contact form. Thank you.

OUR MISSION is to explore nature while we build community!
We do that through:
- mindful hiking in local parks
- learning about the animals, people, and history of the land we hike on
- democratic decision making and accessibility information
